Manitou Investment Management

Manitou was founded in 1999 as a priavte client firm with a core compentency in public equities. The philospohy of the firm is to avoid the permant impairment of capital while gorwing it at CPI +7% over rolling three year periods. The investment process is concentrated (<25 names) and focuses on high quality companies acquired at prices below our impression of their intrinsic value. The firm has six equity mandates (Canadian, US, North American, Global, International and Focus 5+ (max 8 names)). All are run by the same team using the same process.
