Angry Butterfly’s Graham Candy, Partner & Chief Strategy Officer, has over a decade of marketing and research experience, having led insights and strategy at two 100+ person agencies. Graham found his way into advertising after doing his PhD studies at the University of Toronto in Cultural Anthropology. His research focus was on understanding how culture and technology come together to change human experiences, looking specifically at social media and the emergence of online vigilantes. His PhD studies built on his Masters work where he developed new models for how people build networks of trust through online games.

After leaving the world of academia, Graham spent several years at a research consultancy firm working in the CPG and Pharmaceutical categories. There he lead research projects ranging from local focus groups to international (USA, Brazil, Russia, China), multi-staged discovery and positioning work. From research Graham transitioned to agency side, where he developed teams of brand planners, social and influencer specialists, as well as communications planning teams to develop strategy for clients such as Porsche, TD Bank, Dairy Farmers of Canada, Co-operators, IKEA, etc.
